Development of a software tool for economic evaluation of health, safety, and environmental initiatives in a combined cycle power plant

Background: This study aimed to provide a comprehensive tool for the economic evaluation of investments in health, safety, and environment (HSE). Methods: developmental cross-sectional was conducted on costs benefits HSE combined cycle power plant Gilan province, 2021. The components preventive measure (PMCs) occupational accidents, diseases, environmental pollution (ADPCs) were determined by an expert panel review scientific literature. assessment (HSE-EAT) developed Microsoft Excel software using macro/visual basic coding. designed determine efficient measures cost-benefit analysis (CBA) combination control with highest financial cost-effectiveness (CEA). Results: application HSE-EAT showed return investment (ROI) installation drains ducts diesel fuel pipes lowest ROI value renovation emergency eyewash shower. ratio indirect direct implementing worst-case best-case scenarios 3.0 1.3, respectively. Conclusion: exhibited advantages comprehensiveness, flexibility, being user-friendly, faster more accurate calculations could be also used safety initiatives other industries organizations.
